Eyebrow Windows are History

Just a little trivia to brighten up the forum.

Beginning this year, Boeng has discontinued those little windows above the main cockpit windows for 737's.

The first SWA aircraft like this will be N200WN.

Here is the new look

I think that the old design dated back to the 727, and the 707 before that, since the nose has been basically unchanged. These little windows also go back to the B17. The 767's and 777's don't have em, and Boeing was probably too cheap to update the design until now.

I think it makes the aircraft look a little cleaner and classier.

Some have speculated that they were there for manuevering and approach visibility. Others think it was for help with air-to-air refueling, so I guess that is no longer an option for SWA.
