Having said that, having used BA's KUL route many times before it ended, I'd disagree with the underlying point too - my flights always had a lot of connecting people speaking all languages! I think the issue may be more that KL has strong cargo contracts on that route (indeed, it used to use the "mixed" pax/cargo 744 for years!) and I'm not sure if BA did as well on that front.
So why did BA fail and had to pull out of KUL even with the strong ties with the UK and Malaysia? KL succeeded, why couldn't BA?
