On September 7th, I finally reached the million miles. It’s obviously been a very long journey. On the flight before departure, when the attendant was confirming food orders, I mentioned the significance of the flight for me. I held out my boarding pass and politely requested a few signatures for it. He responded without taking the pass with a simple "We know." About halfway into the flight the bursar came to my seat and handed me an enevlope with 4 things:

• Handwitten note from the captain
• Handwritten note from "The Crew"
• A simple thank you note with the flight details signed by 7 on the crew.
• The coin.

No public announcement was made--I appreciated that!
One more item checked off my "bucket list!"
