You don’t mention your final destination nor whether taking the ex LATAM configured flight allows for N/S service to your destination. But having just done an outbound 2 stop ex US TATL trip, I would avoid multi connections like the plague. Regardless of operating carrier, reliability has not been great between carrier/airport/ATC issues. Anyone of these could cause a 50 minute technically doable connection to fail. D1 suites are nice and if you can get it on a N/S fine. But otherwise, and especially as this is a work trip, I suggest you should go for the simplest routing possible and let that be your guide.
This is a ATL-BUD trip, 1 stop at a minimum. You make some great points (thank you), I will stick with current routing and suck it up for the ex LATAM D1 (#firstworldproblems). Just feels wrong to be spending $8k, trying to be loyal to DL and getting a 2-2-2 in return!
