Personally, I only have one data point from about 8 years ago… and it required a bank account number. This was one reason why I was waiting to submit the claim until I had time to decide which bank/country I wanted to receive the payment, etc. etc.
It’s just that when the “opportunity” arose to deal with it more quickly, I naively considered it.
It also doesn’t help that when I first went to the claims page on BA.com it didn’t work and said to try later. Whole thing has been very time consuming and as yet nothing back.
Three First class trips all disrupted by BA and now they seem to want me to fix their IT… sorry I’m ranting but it’s not the BA I remember when I first started flying with them.
And I can certainly see how an opportunist would try to take advantage of the many passengers BA has displaced in the last months or more.
