Aerolíneas Argentinas: Refund Issues
I booked a refundable Premium Economy ticket on Aerolíneas Argentinas. Google Flights, which I used to search, sent me to the Argentine site where I booked the ticket. I canceled the tickets and requested a refund. After several weeks of no contact, I emailed their Miami office and was told that because the tickets were issued in Argentina they couldn't help me and that it could take 45 days for a refund. That clock has run out, and meanwhile, other disgruntled customers online seem to be reporting that 120 days plus is the norm for a refund (if you're lucky to even get one). I've tried to reach out to the airline via their WhatsApp and I can't get through to a human being and their toll-free number in Argentina seems impossible to dial from the USA.
Should I just request a chargeback with my credit card? I've never done that before and Chase gives you only 60 days to request a chargeback so I don't want the clock to run out.
Apparently, getting a refund from Aerolineas is about as efficient as finding ice in the middle of the Sahara. Unfortunately, with LATAM's exit, they basically have the monopoly on internal flights in Argentina.
