I used to fly in them regularly, as a paying customer. I also flew several times (as an NZ passenger) in the VA J seats TT when they were NZ partners. I always enjoyed the experience, and would happily pay for it again now. That sort of seat is good for a 3-4 hour flight. NZ has considerably decreased flexibility of flight times and routes by removing them.
