True but many of the cash cards transfer to the venture miles too, so look at the best offer for spend and get going.
e.g., I got the cash Plus a year ago and then the Venture X - was able to get the Spark card after 6 months and the miles were all combinable in my account and I was then able to transfer to family member account easily.
I do not know if the Venture X card bonus counts for the regular venture card application - will find out in a couple of years.
