In FRA, there is no priority security for SkyTeam elites flying coach, and the lounge DL uses (Plaza Premium) is closed for renovation. They confirmed I could use the lounge if it wasn't closed.
In JFK, I could use priority security but got denied entry into Virgin Clubhouse. Demanded to see the manager who explained to me that although ITA was part of SkyTeam, there was still no agreement for their elites to use VS lounges. I gave up at this point.
I visited Delta SkyClub without problems (sans having to wait in line for 10 minutes), they even have the ITA logo at the entrance
What surprised me: when I fly Air France with my (matched) ITA status, the boarding pass says "Sky Priority". The delta boarding passes made no mention of my status and simply said "BASIC", I had to show my ITA electronic card and talk my way into either priority security or the lounge.
When flying AF, have you gotten lounge access with the Sky Priority AF boarding pass though?
