I’m guessing they gather a pool of elites at some level then start thinning the herd to get to the number of people they want. I have continued to fly United but mainly purchased First Class domestic and purchased Polaris Intl. I’m above the PQD requirements for continued 1K but well below any number I’ve seen tossed around for GS.

It will be interesting in Feb 24 to see if there is a noticeable change in 1K pre-boarding numbers when they finally flush the toilet on COVID era status grants.
