UPDATE: He ended up staying in a budget hotel and will purchase a new flight when he is no longer sick. This will cost the family about $5000.00. (Updated to $2500) We are all splitting in for the cost. Next time travel insurance.

FYI: No English-speaking television in his Vienna budget hotel, so it will be a long wait in bed while he recovers.
