i'll be flying IST-MCT-BKK on oman air. i arrive 6:20 in BKK and fly out 14:05. if i can check in on the app, then i can hang out airside in BKK the whole time with lounges etc. and don't need to go through immigration.
else i'll need to go through immigration, maybe not be able to check in at a counter if it's not staffed yet, so kill time with not much to do until getting a counter agent who can check me in and add the air canada number. so i'm curious if
1. the staff at the gate once it is open can actually add my air canada number, or
2. can i simply submit the flight and itinerary for credit to alaska after the flight even without the ff# specified, since it has none and would not have been credited to anyone?
Staff at gate will not add your AC number - whilst the system can do it, staff are mostly contracted ground handling and an unusual request will be met by, sorry no can do.
Best to do at check in, where they can call over the EK staffer.
BKK sometimes operates a 4hr before departure rule for the lounge, variably enforced.
Alaska issue is one for that airline.
