Most airlines prohibit ebikes indeed. Not too sure about bringing such a large battery onboard either, in the event of a fire that would be very hard to contain.

On another note, bike boxes. I've now started renting an Evoc Bike Bag from the London Cycle Workshop and the difference with the Bike Box Alan is like night and day. The latter is horrid, the Evoc is so much better!
