For anybody looking at booking a domestic fare in Australia this can be very good value. The cheapest non sale fare you can typically get on QF between SYD and MEL is AUD150 (which should make people realise what a good deal many NZ domestic fares are!).

Booking a reward booking on this route via the Air NZ partner portal is APD125 + NZD$24.80 in tax which makes it slightly cheaper than the cheapest fare you can book with QF direct.

On many days you will see reward bookings for APD125 + NZD$24.80 in tax when the cheapest flights available from QF direct can often be AUD$300 - AUD$400 which can be a good saving.
