I'm currently booked on Paine Field (Everett) - LAX 5 hour layover - Fiji, using alaska miles. Had to pick Paine Field because that was the only available option on saver award flight (nothing from Seatac).

Since this is many many many months in the future, I fully expect that the PAE-LAX segment will have a massive time change, which can make the layover good/bad as the case may be. If this happens, given that the domestic segment alaska metal and alaska award, will it be relatively painless to move myself to any of the Seattle - LAX flights even if saver award space is not available? Or worst case, will I be allowed to drop the PAE-LAX segment from the reservation without a reprice (assuming the award chart pricing has increased)
