I don't believe any of the extreme options (e.g., refuse to leave room, spend hours on the phone with Marriott, etc.) are worth the time, effort, or stress. My advice would be use your best persuasive powers; if they won't budge, try to negotiate an alternative ("do you have another room we could use to shower before we leave for the airport"); ultimately, just make the best of the situation.
