I’ve been able to retrieve AA PNRs using a QF PNR on BA.com. Go to Manage Booking and then select seats. In my case, it shows the QF PNR and immediately below the AA PNR.
There’s also a check box (to share info) and a button to take you to AA.com to select seats.
I just tried this method and it worked exactly as described. So, no need to call AA!
