This isn't true. I flew HND-SFO in JL F on Sunday. Both F and J inventory are available on this route for today (Thursday in Japan).
I can’t book return trips from Tokyo for July 2024 other than on Starlux. I was able to book the direct flight from Seattle to Tokyo but cannot find any return flights at the end of the month
