Has anyone been able to register any VGCs online? I buy these for organic spend so they would sit for a while before being used up. Registration might mean less hassle to get a replacement should the card is compromised. Hence I generally register the cards. Of course if you want to use it online or over the phone, you have to register the card.
Is it even possible to register the card over the phone via a human rep?
Seems strange that YMMV in terms of whether the registration site works…I’ve never had a problem registered mine (Visa BHN, MC BHN, or grocery everywhere- at each of their web pages). Have registered multiple cards the last few days and no problem, every time I’m able to register address and set my own pin and no site issues / failures. I use Chrome, for what it’s worth, in a regular browser (not incognito) and I don’t create/log into a gift card mall website account (I.e. just load the page and register). I do always use the Check Transactions / Balance tool first, just to make sure there isn’t a fraud issue / the balance I expect is on the card, then I click the registration tab and register the address, then the pin tab and set my pin, and then click back to the Check Transactions tab and repeat with the next card, and use that same sequence each time.
