Pretty sure I've taken a bus directly from MEX to Orizaba, one of Ciudad Mendoza's neighbors. It may even have been an Ado GL bus, that is, one where TVs require headphones (as opposed to playing terrible movies at full.volume).

Can't comment on private transfers. However, I do know the Orizaba area fairly well; the downtown is quite clean.
