I wouldn't assume that quitting and re-opening would refresh anything. On Android (and maybe ios too... I've never used it) you can clear the cache in the app settings. But a refresh (swipe down) should do it.
About 10% of my BPs don't ever update.
Android user as well. The app was coded by 4 year olds.
