Piggybacking on this to see if anyone has insight into Hyatt Regency vs. the Hilton Orlando in this area. The Hyatt is the headquarter hotel for the conference I have at the convention center but I have Hilton Gold status and try to accumulate my points there (with some spillover on Marriott given even better footprint in some parts of the world where I travel). I have 0 points on Hyatt. Is it worth giving up the shorter sky walk from Hyatt for the longer Hilton one or is the Hyatt Regency Orlando truly a superior hotel on top of the shorter distance? Work is paying for the hotel so not a variable to me.

I am a HHONOR Diamond and a Hyatt Globalist, so I have stayed at both properties as their elite and while there is not a whole lot of difference between the 2 hotels, I do favor the Hyatt a bit more over the Hilton.
But if you have no status with Hyatt and have a bit of status with Hilton, then I would say choose the Hilton as the walk is not that much further from the OCC and I have taken both walks numerous times over the last 15 years.
