Hoping I can drop my bag off at a hotel prior to the official check in times so that I can explore a little.

Cash wise, places such the Staybridge near the airport are going for a minimum of £96 / $120? or 15k-20k for redemptions.

I haven't renewed my Ambassador membership so will avoid paying cash for ICs until it suits me better.
Not sure if I could apply a suite upgrade though? Got 2 to use up.

£150-£200 is average if nearer Miami beach.

Redemption wise:
Kimpton Epic for 37k points + $37 amenity fee.
Atwell Suites Bricknell 23k
indigo Bricknell 20k
Kimpton Palomar South Beach 18k
Kimpton Surfcomer 27k
Holiday Inn Miami Beach ocean front 23k + $33 amenity fee
IC Doral 28k

Want somewhere that isn’t too difficult to get between the airport and to see South Beach etc. for the first time. Using public transport, so trains, buses and walking.
A bonus would be somewhere with a lounge so that I can use my lounge access reward.
(Will hit 40 nights with this stay, so 20k points, food vouchers and/or lounge access etc.)
I needed an inexpensive redemption before a cruise and stayed at Indigo Brickell. I was disappointed that the comp diamond breakfast was the free breakfast offered at Atwell Suites (they are co-located) and was pretty much a HIX breakfast.
As a diamond I had access to the (Atwell) breakfast space, which was a pseudo lounge the rest of the day with comp coffee machine and drinks in a fridge. There was a bar there as well in the evening with light bites but both food and drinks were for purchase.
We did get upgraded to the larger room type at Indigo, not a huge deal.
The location was very good for public transportation, if you didn't care about being at the beach.
You can definitely leave your bag with them if your room isn't available for early check-in, and you can leave it after you check-out.
