Booked: 1 King Premium Balcony (paid cash)
Received: 1 King Premium Balcony - received the same room category as booked, despite the hotel being very quiet.

How are the rooms?
No view, decent-sized room with (covered) balcony that overlooked a fairly nondescript "courtyard". I didn't make much use of the balcony due to the heat!

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
The welcome amenity offered at check-in was complimentary breakfast each day which, given it is usually a glass of wine or points, I jumped at, as it otherwise would have cost £25 equivalent per day.
Granted 4pm checkout upon request.
Breakfast staff were very friendly and proactive.

Neutral:
Room was well-appointed but showing its age (scuffed doors, etc).
There was no recognition of my Ambassador status in the room (note, fruit, water, etc).

Bad:
No upgrade or mineral water, but as complimentary breakfast each day was offered as the welcome amenity, I still felt I was ending up ahead.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
I paid GBP122 equivalent per night, which I was happy with, especially with the complimentary breakfast included. I would definitely return..
This hotel has a bad reputation on here (check the thread on it), I would have pushed for 10k points for lack of upgrade. Unacceptable, especially if it was quiet as you say.

If you are IHG Diamond, breakfast is standard amenity (and yes, it is the best choice) so they weren't doing you any favours there either.
