It is quite an approach looking out the window (where my son taught me a "life hack" of wedging the phone between the window shade) seeing the mountain climb followed by the PHILEX dams. I'm involved with a factory in the PEZA (Philippine Economic Zone Authority) area which actually borders the runway so you get to see the flights come in and out. There is also an airbase tucked away at the end of the runway as well. The next time I'll be on it is possibly on a return from Hong Kong at the end of Oct or over New Year when I plan a New Year stay on the Macatan Resorts (fireworks - woo!).

Were you on the Skyjet flights back then or a charter? Did you stay in Camp John Hay (which used to be the US military HQ and governorship seat from the American Colonial days).
