I try not to fly UA long-haul, so my experience with other Polaris lounges is limited. I felt LAX had much better food, and I believe generally the sentiment is that SFO is by far the worst in the system.
Compared to many other premium lounges, the food at Polaris SFO is subpar. The buffet is better at the LAX SkyClub or the AA premium lounges at JFK.

Depending on which gate/pier your flight arrives from Denver, going to MLL might be a bit of trek. And it will certainly be a trek going from MLL to the Paris departure G gates.
SFO is pretty compact, and it's really not that far - between 5 and 10 minutes, depending on pace. Certainly nothing like the trek from T7 to the *A lounge at LAX, for example.
