Thanks again to all those that chimed in here. So I called the Bonvoy 0800 number again and asked to switch my dates, this time the agent that looked into this didnt even blink, they said "well this is a prepaid non refundable rate but changes are allowed until 1 day prior to check-in so YES, we are happy to accomodate your request. The rate available for my new date came out to about $4 less than my original pre-paid rate and I did have to forfeit the difference, but I am a happy camper.

I guess this means that the old golden rule of calling again when you dont get something from the 0800 number is still valid.... LOL
