One other point I forgot - they wouldn't confirm a late checkout of 1 PM until the morning of departure, which is less than ideal as that means Housekeeping will still knock if they are relying on printed papers to notify them of room status. I just left at Noon.
Thanks for the review, looks like I was right to keep my optimism in check. I've got a 2 night stay in less than 3 weeks.
Booked a Penthouse Exec Room at what looked to me to be a decent rate for an apparently premium room (plus I wanted the penthouse balcony and it looked like they didn't upgrade to that level), so not expecting an upgrade.
Ideally I'd prefer a late checkout for 2.30pm, but again, I'm not holding my breath, though I'll still take a late checkout approval on morning of departure since it'll be nice to freshen up after the final morning sightseeing.
