Do yourself a favor and stay someplace closer to town. Paying cash for a nice, better managed and better located property is well worth it in Sorrento

Thanks, I hear you. The hotel used to go for 300-400€ for the better (renovated) sea view rooms and that was just about barely acceptable to me for what's offered (I don't have enough points for 5 nights to get the one might free)..600€ per night, no way for the very average offering and often mediocre service.

We would have a car so not so concerned about the hill part, but already booked another place anyways for a fair bit less than Hilton is asking. YMMV.
