Depends.

If an hour I can knock off what would take three or four hours in a hotel room later on a dial up connection then it's worth it.

If it's just to kill time and check my e-mail, then I'd buy a couple of magazines instead.

But if I had an hour of dedicated access in a lounge or a quiet corner, I can certainly get more then $8 worth of work done, so to me it may be worth it if I had stuff to do.
