if you have an unlocked phone, get a SIM card in Israel, its the cheapest option I think (and you can keep the phone number if you're coming back)

renting isn't bad either, arrange it ahead of time, I used ATS, they are pretty good but usually insist on sending it to teh hotel, not the airport.
