Absolute disaster has struck. I’m on a US road trip at the moment. Main point was to see Metallica in PHX Friday and Sunday. Friday was good. But seems Het has caught Covid and tonight’s show is pushed to next Saturday. Problem is I will be in San Diego end of next week for work and then flying back to DUB Saturday the 9th.

Apparently the medical emergency policy for close family members doesn’t include the “Metallica Family”!! And I guess they will use historical fares to recalculate the price. I used matrix to price this up when I bought the ticket back in like January. And of course small things like prime vs codeshare on a given sector can blow the fare up massively. I think I paid around £1500 for the ticket. Is there any way to search for a historical itinerary so I can feed them the flights I want departing on the 10th or 11th? It would be easier to drive back to PHX on Saturday morning and just start the trip from here then fly back on Sunday, but will the change of airport kill me?
