Marriott isn’t phoning in OTAs to ask them to take off the lower rates, but I suspect they actively try to figure out who’s the rogue operator doing unauthorized rate leakage and will try to lock it out of their distribution channels. I’m sure it’s not the BRG frontline associates doing that but I would bet they share that information with the relevant department.

The sole purpose of the BRG program is to enforce compliance of Marriott’s rate policies and rules amongst its wholesalers and distribution partners.
