Intercontinental Melbourne

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked: Signature Suite (Ambassador Weekend)
Received: Iconic Suite (City of Melbourne)

How are the rooms?
112 sqm, huge lounge/desk/minibar area, large bedroom, large bathroom with separate shower, toilet and spa bath. Also separate toilet just inside the entry door. Odd furnishing, quite 70s looking. Big chaise longue and several armchairs but no dining table. Large desk/work area. Minibar well stocked with beers, champers, wine, soft drinks plus snack on shelf above. Comfortable bed, quite firm. Overall a nice room, spotlessly clean. No USB connections anywhere.

How is the exec. lounge?
Only had breakfast there but pleasant atmosphere with views of the atrium. Breakfast was a limited hot menu plus cereals and other cold items.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Upgrade was good however the suite is on the first floor so street noise was a bit of an issue late Saturday night. Ambassador treatment very smooth.
Good breakfast choice at Alluvial
Room service very efficient, prompt and tasty hot food

Neutral:
Room and furnishings were dated.

Bad:
Nothing

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Yes with the free night it made for a good value stay.
