Already traveled, as a data point, you do get a checked bag on flights from Europe to USA, if you get a blue class fare, because this gives you a Main Cabin fare on AA (aka economic) it’s confusing because there’s a lower fare which is Basic economic, which won’t have checked bag.

So if your ticket says economy, you have a checked bag on AA.
