A few questions AA 728 PHL-LHR why would a crew tome out just for a stop in Gander for a medical emergency. Just land drop off passenger then head out. Plane sits over 10 hours for new crew then goes back to PHL instead of heading to LHR. Why was that done major inconvenience to psssengers.
A lack of enough fuel to continue across the Atlantic (and a delay sourcing said fuel). As for the return to PHL, logistically it would be easier to get the crew and plane back on track than have them arrive in LHR late, subsequently delaying rather than cancelling the return.
