No problems buying multiple passes (they do check my passport for the sticker as expected).
forgot to mention, you can purchase the tokyo metro/toei pass via online travel agencies, they give you QR code that can be scanned/redeemed at (certain?) subway stops, which is still a bigger list of location

might be better, b/c you can use credit card to buy online (no fx fee), and some OTA sites give you like 0.1% off or their "points"
