Not quite an EC261 issue, but when travelling back from LPA on Tuesday we were informed (as we boarded the LPA - MAD flight) that our connecting BA flight from MAD to LHR was cancelled. We eventually secured seats from MAD to LHR on Wednesday (O/H going direct and me going via LYS) so we retrieved our bags at MAD and booked a hotel for the night. I have started to try and claim the Hotel / Taxi expenses from BA, but when I try to do this via the website, I am brought to an endless loop of selecting compensation for a cancelled flight / claiming expenses and then am brought back to the 'what would you like to complain about' page. Has BA stopped people from claiming expenses because of the backlog or are they hoping we all just forget about it and disappear?
