And there have been quite a few EXPs in economy on my recent AA flights (i.e. group one [which includes first class] has been huge and group two [OWE and AA Plat Pro] very small) and there are already a ton of people onboard when I get to my seat.
...yes. With AA they board 'those who need extra time', then military, then their group 1 (1st/business class) - which can mean the plane seems 50% full already. Group 2 boarding is pretty exclusive - often I'm the only pax in that group - but you have to be careful not to be overtaken by the Group 3 herd/stampede. On occassions they even miss the Group 2 call.
