My card was charged after I left the hotel and they overcharged me. I don’t want to identify the property yet as I’m hoping the manager will get it fixed. They overbilled me by adding a fraudulent 13% exchange fee!
I politely brought it to their attention and I explained that Givex applies the exchange fee and the hotel is actually saving 3% on the credit card merchant fee.
I got the following message from the Front Office Mgr.
To begin with, thank you for forwarding your request to our Team, that we would like to confirm we have successfully acknowledged.
With regards to that and according to the severity of the case, we kindly ask for your extended patience while a detailed investigation is taking place in order to ensure an accurate and efficient resolution.
I suspect it was done out of ignorance rather than malice but I would like to make sure they don’t do this again.
