CX probably doesn't release lower booking class availabilities when on married segments. Availabilties are not subject to Married Segment Control (MSC) when having a stopover at HKG. I see JL doing the same thing. Ex-TPE, it is usually cheaper to stop in TYO for > 24 hours before taking the next flight to North America.
