Personally, I'm annoyed when I see just that sugar and crap and none of your choices would be mine. But it's cheap, so its strange why the hotel doesn't have a few desserts. It's obviously a fraction of the cost of meat, fish etc which is why BArb's luxury lounges have an array of bourbons and custard creams to keep the boomers happy.
I absolutely have a sweet tooth, but I also am not inclined to eat the savory options often presented in lounges. Soups and slices of salmon aren't really my thing (unless the salmon is on a bagel or eggs royale), and I'm not a fan of buffet meat and most vegetables. As I usually go out to eat an early dinner, a lounge can often provide a good source of dessert.
Regardless, I've been to plenty of properties that have subpar lounge offerings - I've been to far fewer that seemed to double as the site of a haircut.
