I don’t think you’re making a mistake but it depends on what you want. I think the St.Regis view has the iconic view of Mt.Otemanu but you don’t get that unless you book the specific room, like the Conrad. It is nice that the view is in front of the resort, though. For the Conrad, you have to go up a small hill which is about a 5 minute easy walk through a beautiful garden. I went up it 3 times a day. You also get beautiful views of the lagoon and its contrasting colors. The St.Regis is flat.

Another plus of the St.Regis is that it’s right next to a very beautiful bay that is a massive sandbar essentially. I rented a pontoon boat and drove to it.10/10 recommend that area.

Also, the Conrad right now is renovating rooms. By the time you stay, you will be likely be staying in almost brand new renovated rooms. I think the St.Regis hasn’t updated their rooms in a while. The St.Regis also is a much smaller property with a smaller beach and smaller pool. The house reef in the Conrad is also the best ultra shallow reef I’ve ever seen anywhere short of 150 miles off shore in the Great Barrier Reef. The level of service here is extremely high as well. All employees are authentically friendly, lively and very professional. Much like the Conrad Maldives.
