but you are forgetting what the forecast could have been vs what actually happened. The could have been is why it mattered
see the post hurricane coverage n the SE and what was expected vs what happened.
hurricanes can have small deviations that matter significantly in impact. A similar situation are nor’easters innthr northeast and if snow hits nyc-dc area or is it just a mix/ rain vs 2+ feet of snow.
Except all the “you could have had” is well within the usual. We could have been hit by an asteroid, too.
