Seat Assignment and TK Website Issues from UA Award Tix

MOD: Could not find another thread so please merge as appropriate. I had posted in UA but another told me to check in TK Forum

Booked my first award on TK using UA (016 tix) in business (since destination = IST). Quickly received UA and TK PNRs and UA tix no's. I went to choose seats, but TK website did not show rez with TK PNR and naturally UA PNR and UA tix numbers.

I waited 2d and called TK and rep told me to contact UA to choose seats!!! Of course that was idiotic. Notably, TK rep could NOT confirm rez.

I called premier line and explained issue. Rep duplicated what I had seen or rather, did not. Rep contacted UA revenue desk (not sure why but I believe she said it had a direct number to TK CS). No answer on 3 tries. However, rep said she and her superior both believed I had a confirmed rez; she documented. Told me to call back in 48h.

I waited 1 week with same results. Called UA and after she duplicated my results, rep conferenced-call TK where I participated. Its rep did not specifically confirm rez but stated that seats would be assigned on check in. TK rep dropped off, and UA rep and I laughed at how unhelpful the call was. Rep documented same, including her conclusion that she believes there is a confirmed rez.

Is the previous typical for TK, including the inability to assign seats ahead of time? With all the documentation, I am certain UA will resolve in my favor any issues should I get to the airport and there is no space in business on our chosen itin. Do others agree? Take any other steps?
