In the past Finnair has very good track record of rearranging connections on separate tickets if both flights are AY. Not guaranteed but I've always had success and last year even CS confirmed they'd reroute me in case of misconnection between separate AY tickets.
I had a case earlier this year where I had an AA-AY ticket and an AY ticket. AA caused me to miss the AY flight which meant I would miss the second AY flight. AY wouldn't treat the two tickets as one (which would've let me get rerouted from North America to my final city) but my ticket was a flex ticket and the fare difference was like 20 euros for the next day, so I managed to change the second ticket without problems and also easily reapplied my upgrade which had cleared earlier to the next flight. So my experience wasn't bad, but I missed a day of work in the next destination city
