This is totally normal.

Unlike the US (and Canada?) where all prepaid or deposit-requiring reservation payments are taken centrally by Hilton, in other parts of the world the hotels take the payments directly. The majority of them are franchisees too so all have their own way of doing things, and their own banks/payment aggregators.

I've had Hilton hotels ask for payment this way in the UAE, Spain and Malaysia. Totally normal.
