Breathtaking so far. I'm going to do a writeup when I check out this weekend but I am blown away by how people could complain about this place. Especially when staying on points. Maybe management changed everything up in the last few months with the new General Manager and Head Chef? The food is pretty good and very well priced for a 5 star dream location resort, the grounds are immaculate, the water is beautiful, staff are extremely friendly and professional etc. Didn't have a single negative interaction with any staff and they were all extremely welcoming and friendly. The house reef is in stellar shape, especially for being literally right at the beach. The view of Mt.Otemanu from the lookout is beautiful and the short walk up the hill provides a very beautiful view of the lagoon's contrasting colors plus the gardens.
At first, I thought I was going to want to go to the main island of Bora Bora more often but I found it to be pretty boring and nowhere near as pretty as the resort. There is not much to do outside of your resort unless you have an excursion booked. You get a cool view of Mt.Otemanu right from the island but to really appreciate the view, the Motu's where the resorts are have the best views. Even the 'cheap' restaurants are expensive lol. Local groceries are expensive. I don't really see a reason to eat outside of the resort unless it's a very specific place you want to go eat at.
I'm mainly comparing this to the Conrad Maldives and so far, I am very impressed. Both are incredible and very different though.
