You can go between 3x and 4x over the limit as long as the over limit portion is paid by the due date. Additionally, it’s a hidden trade line so over limit won’t report unless you’re delinquent.
For the first time since I got this card in 2016, I'll be testing it out. Lots of very expensive cruise deposits and final payments, as well as J airline tickets all will show in one month's billing. Since I've never exceeded this soft limit, there was a little anxiety about this test. I called the exec line this morning and they reassured me that "the sky's the limit." (
