Also the working ways of the 2 companies are completely different and it would be very hard to switch the BA personnel to how Jet2 works.
Their issue would be getting slots at LGW, I think buying their way in would be the only way Jet2 could open a base of any significant size, or with decent growth potential. I don’t know how ambitious Jet2 were when they opened their STN operation, they currently have 16 aircraft based there. To put that in perspective easyJet had 7 based units, before they closed the base. Jet2 are clearly doing something right.
Jet2 claim to be the UKs largest ATOL holder so a presence at LGW, traditionally the UK’s ‘holiday’ airport seems appropriate.
